Salt and Ink

Lost Journals now rank up, every meal in the galley is a choice, the Quartermaster finally goes diving, and the Iron Citadel now takes twelve captains.
Lost Journals
A finished journal now ranks up, to five, and every rank stays with you.
- The Cartographer's Log: +1% fleet speed a rank
- The Gunner's Manual: +1% fleet attack a rank
- The Shipwright's Diary: 3% faster ship builds a rank
Every quest now turns up pages for its own journal. A page now says which one it is, how many you hold, and when the last one is in.
Captains who finished the Log already have their ranks.
Every Meal Is a Choice
Crab BrothRation+5% Hull, +2% Damage Reduction, -2% Speed
Perch StewRation+5% Hull, +5% Fire Resist, -2% Attack
Eel and Pepper StewRation+18% Attack, +7% Evasion, -7% Hull
Shark SteakRation+18% Hull, +7% Boarding, -7% Speed
Sea Monk BrothRation+25% Hull, +10% Damage Reduction, -10% Attack
Every fish ration now does three things: what it always did, something from its family, and a cost.
Crab Broth now hardens the hull and slows the fleet. Perch Stew keeps the fire out and blunts the guns. Eels slip shot, sharks board, squid bring the squall, and the deep fish find the weak point in a hull.
No two rations of a rarity are the same.
The Quartermaster Goes Diving
The salvage talents now work the wrecks.
- Salvage Expert: more of every lift comes up whole
- Master Salvager: less time at a wreck, and the fleet still gets patched in battle
- Treasure Hunter and Opportunist: the crate now turns up on salvage trips as well as won raids
Fewer Hands at the Citadel
The Iron Citadel now takes 12 captains, and Leviathan's Wake 10.
- Each captain now brings more ships to make up the numbers: up to 20 to the Wake and 42 to the Citadel.
- A win at either now has a chance to hand each captain a set of blueprint plans.
- Each raid now opens with the leader's Leadership: the Pirate Haven at 1, one raid a level, up to the Citadel at 5.
- An alliance now holds five more captains for every level of Leadership: 10 at level 1, up to 30 at level 5.
Misc.
- Every reward in a report now shows its rarity and what it is on hover, and a blueprint now shows the hull it builds.
- The relic Navigator's Sextant now lowers the attack and cargo a quest asks for.
- Talents now need their prerequisite at full rank.
- Research from level 6 now takes Steel, Aged Rum and Bronze, more at every level.
- Fisheries, Salvage, Admiralty and Gunnery now ask for more of their own materials.
- The Food and Dispatches tabs now sort by kind and rarity.
Five ranks to a journal. Choose your supper.
